Established 1947
Like so many great companies, it all started with an idea and a garage-turned workspace.
After working for a safety supplier in Toronto, Harry Wasserman realized the quality of PPE on the market was very inconsistent. Consumers didn’t always know what they would get. He wanted to cut through the confusion and create a source of safety products you can trust with your health and well-being.
Harry started out selling safety products door-to-door from his backpack. His dedication to quality and value was so successful he went on to establish Wayne Safety’s head office in Toronto, expanding to Calgary in 1997.

Leadership Team
Ryan Nisker, Co-CEO
Wayne Safety has always been a part of Ryan’s life. As a child he remembers weekend trips to the office where the warehouse was his personal playground. After graduating from the University of Toronto with a degree in Life Sciences, Ryan began his career at Wayne Safety.
As an apprentice to his grandfather and founder Harry, he specialized in the Import Purchasing Department. He learned the ins and outs of sourcing PPE, supplier relations, and quality management. Outside of the office, Ryan enjoys skiing and vacationing with his wife and 2 children.
Jason Nisker, Co-CEO
Jason started his career at Wayne Safety as a toddler, honing his climbing skills on the boxes in the warehouse. He worked his teenage summers unloading containers and picking orders before attending York University on an academic scholarship.
Jason returned to Wayne Safety full time in September 2000. He has since accumulated a wealth of knowledge in industrial safety supply over the past 20+ years. In his down time Jason enjoys skiing and travelling with his wife and two children. He is proud to continue the family legacy as a leader in the safety industry.
Aaron Nisker, Executive Advisor
Aaron began working at Wayne Safety in 1970. He began in the shipping department where he quickly learned product SKU’s. He then transitioned to driving a Wayne Safety Shoemobile to job sites, beginning his career in sales.
Aaron would eventually become sales manager and has been a key contributor to Wayne Safety’s steady growth over the past few decades. Now with more than 50 years of experience, Aaron has taken a step back from sales and has taken an advisory and key decision making role within the company.
Arlene Nisker, Executive Advisor
Arlene has been involved with Wayne Safety since the companies early years where she would help her father and founder, Harry Wasserman, pack up goods to ship from their home. Arlene would go on to pursue a career in physiotherapy.
Shortly after becoming a mother of two, she would dedicate her time to philanthropy. When her children began school, she joined the family business in customer service and eventually took on the role of office manager. Arlene now works with the customer service department part time and as an advisor.
